World Leader in Rotor Blade Repair
For more than 30 years, Composite Technology, Inc. (CTI) has specialized in the repair of both metal and composite rotor blades, building a worldwide network focused on turn-around time and performing only OEM-approved repairs. Our recent merger with Sikorsky Aircraft Company recognizes CTI’s reputation and capabilities, provides financial strength, and will benefit all CTI customers and employees. The company will continue operating as CTI, providing OEM-licensed rotor blade repairs.
Since 1972, CTI has worked closely with OEMs to make sure its repairs meet or exceed OEM and statutory requirements. CTI has licensing agreements with Agusta, Bell Helicopter, Eurocopter, Kazan Helicopters, MD Helicopters/HTC, Schweizer, and Sikorsky. These agreements allow CTI to offer one-stop shopping for rotor blade repairs, featuring OEM-approved procedures, tooling and parts-all backed up by an industry-leading 2000-hr./three-year warranty.
Main and Tail Rotor Blade Repair Capabilities
In addition to OEM-approved work, including repairs outside typical aftermarket limits on main and tail rotors for both metal and composite blades, CTI also offers rentals, exchanges, sales, field repairs and AOG services–all supported by an experienced and dedicated service team. Because CTI is an OEM-licensed repair facility, it can complete and file OEM warranty repairs.
A Worldwide Network
CTI is the largest rotor blade service provider approved by all major OEMs with operations in five countries: Brazil, Canada, England, Singapore and the United States. In addition, the company is expanding its international presence, working with a worldwide network of representatives in Latin America, the Middle East and Asia.
Reducing Turn-Around Time (TAT)
This is at the heart of CTI’s strategy. Limiting downtime is critical, so one of CTI’s main goals is reducing TAT. Measured separately at each facility, CTI believes its success is a result of focus, trained personnel, material provisioning and local proximity to customers. According to CTI’s President, Michael Topa, "CTI is focused on returning rotor blades to service in the shortest time possible with only OEM-approved repairs. Understanding shipping is a significant cost and a contributor to delays in turn around time, we have positioned ourselves globally to be close to our customers," says CTI President Michael Topa. "The merger with Sikorsky Aircraft Company will allow us to grow our worldwide network and pool of exchange/lease blades to further reduce turn around time for all our customers."
