Providing Effective, Affordable, and Comprehensive Training for Helicopter Pilots
FlightSafety delivers an unparalleled training experience that offers exceptional value over in-aircraft training. As one of the world's foremost aviation training companies and developer of the first Level "D" certificated full-flight simulator for rotorcraft, no one understands better than FlightSafety the challenges helicopter pilots encounter in the real world. And no one has more experience preparing crews to face them.
Advantages of Simulator-Based Training
FlightSafety's full-flight simulator-based training is the most effective, affordable, and safest method of training. Simulators provide a realistic training environment that is more efficient than training in an aircraft, because the pilot can practice emergency and abnormal procedures without risk in a simulator-without substituting imagination for reality.
Superior Environment For Superior Training
Effective and comprehensive helicopter training involves reviewing and practicing normal procedures, and, more importantly, abnormal and emergency procedures. These procedures can be practiced safely and under a broad variety of weather and environmental conditions in a FlightSafety full-flight simulator.
FlightSafety's advanced technology simulators are capable of reproducing real-world flight characteristics down to the smallest detail. FlightSafety's VITAL 9 Visual Simulation System provides helicopter pilots with high-resolution imagery and is capable of replicating environmental conditions experienced during all phases of flight.
Readiness for All Situations
Most helicopter incidents involve night flight or instrument meteorological conditions. The full-flight simulator-based training allows pilots to practice under these (and many other) conditions while exploring how Crew Resource Management, Human Factors, and Decision Making principles can impact performance. Integrating these lessons into the full-flight environment allows them to be repeated and refined precisely and in complete safety again and again, until a pilot is proficient.
Training for All Missions and Types
FlightSafety delivers simulator-based, mission-specific courses for flight crews of virtually all helicopter types, including Sikorsky, Bell, Eurocopter, and Agusta. Our experience spans all operational scenarios, from corporate and military operations to EMS, law enforcement, and air rescue. The company also offers a wide variety of specialty training courses developed to meet the specific training requirements of helicopter pilots, such as:
FlightSafety's simulator technology and training programs are developed in close cooperation with aircraft manufacturers. Programs can be customized to emphasize scenarios specific to any operation. FlightSafety to Host Second Air Medical Safety Forum
To better understand the challenges facing air medical transport personnel, FlightSafety sponsored the first Air Medical Safety Forum for representatives of the FAA, insurance companies, industry associations, and rotorcraft manufacturers last year. What we learned prompted us to offer the industry's first Air Medical Resource Management (AMRM) course. Designed for all members of the EMS air medical team, the course uses simulator scenarios patterned after real-world flight incidents. FlightSafety will host the second annual Air Medical Safety Forum in May 2006.
