AvMap/Navigation’s expertise and know-how in aeronautical navigation has provided trustworthy and technologically advanced products for more than 10 years.

The EKP-IV PRO portable GPS moving map system was specifically designed for law-enforcement, search-and-rescue (SAR) and homeland-security customers. The EKP-IV Pro is an upgraded version of the EKP-IIIC Pro system that has been available to customers in the law-enforcement sector for the past few years.

"We are confident that the PRO will fulfill the needs of demanding special-operation missions, providing pilots the perfect situational awareness tool in the cockpit," says Kenneth Cirillo, general manager of AvMap. "The EKP-IV PRO offers the power of a navigational computer — complete with all the features found in advanced systems (Jeppesen nav data, flight planning, airspace displays, approaches, HSI and more) — yet with a simple, user-friendly interface."

The EKP-IV PRO doesn’t stop there. Enhancements have been added to include SAR patterns with user-definable planning. Choose from three pre-set patterns that draw the SAR pattern selected at the push of a key. See your aircraft’s track on the display and easily monitor your movement along the SAR pattern. Download track and SAR pattern for post-ops training. You may choose among three patterns: Expanding Square, Creeping Line Ahead and Circular.

An advanced feature of the EKP-IV PRO is the ability to access the detailed TeleAtlas street data. The Search function allows the operator to instantly navigate to the desired address. You can search for a place or street entering state, country, town and street name. Most recently TAWS and Victor airways and private airports have been added.

Another great improvement with the EKP-IV PRO over the previous version is the capability to switch the screen orientation from horizontal to vertical. This allows the unit to be used in the traditional kneeboard mode or mounted either on the yoke, floor, chair rail, panel or airframe.

The 7-in-diagonal color-display, sunlight-viewable EKP-IV PRO is the largest portable GPS/moving map system available. Weighing in at only 1.2 lb., the PRO’s suggested list price is $1,000 and is available direct from AvMap’s dealers nationwide.
