By James T. McKenna | February 21, 2007

Sikorsky Aircraft has signed a memo of understanding with Gulf Helicopters in Qatar to explore the establishment of an aviation center of excellence for the Middle East region. The center would provide maintenance support as well as training and design and development services to Sikorsky, Gulf, and other commercial and governmental aircraft operators in the region. In addition, Gulf Helicopter signed a contract for a second of two Sikorsky S-92 VVIP aircraft. The first S-92 began flying in the Gulf region in 2006. Prior to this contract, Turkey, Turkmenistan and South Korea had selected the S-92 for head-of-state service. For related news
