Bristow to Buy Out Flight School, Set Up Training Unit

By James T. McKenna | March 5, 2007

Bristow Group has agreed to purchase 100 percent of the stock of the flight school Helicopter Adventures, which will be renamed the Bristow Academy. It "will be the centerpiece of a Global Training Div. that will set a new standard for helicopter training at all levels of qualification," said Bristow President and CEO William Chiles, "while also providing a steady supply of highly trained new pilots to meet the needs of the company." A major provider of offshore helicopter support services, Bristow will pay about $15 million plus $5 million in debt for Helicopter Adventures, which has locations in Titusville, Fla. and Concord, Calif.
