Helicopter Business Growing in Northern Canada

By Staff Writer | March 14, 2007

Gateway Helicopters in northern Ontario, Canada, is seeking an increase in its business with the expansion of mining exploration. Gateway has doubled its size to 20 helicopters within the last three years with mining activity contributing to half of its business. The company recently opened a new base in Quebec. It is negotiating with the city of North Bay to construct a 12,000-sq-ft facility near its current location in North Bay. The high level of mining activity has led to fierce competition for pilots, with salaries rising to meet the demand.   For related news
