Former Helicopter Assn. International president Roy Resavage died Feb. 19 after a long illness. He was 62.
Resavage spent seven years at the helm of HAI, where he led the association through difficult financial times. He is credited with improving operational efficiency and the financial health of the association, as well as increasing the annual attendance at Heli-Expo shows. Before HAI, Resavage was a career naval officer. He served as executive officer of the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy and as commander of NAS Jacksonville, Fla.
"I inherited a financially strong, professionally staffed international organization, which was a direct result of Roy’s efforts and commitment," said current HAI president Matt Zuccaro. "The international helicopter community and I have lost a good friend."
