Western Australia’s RAC Rescue 1 EMS service is expected to shave 5 min off its standard 20-min response time with a new base building at Jandakot Airport, near Perth. The facility consolidates its operations center, hangar, and crew area, all of which had been separated by a few hundred meters. Jandakot is Western Australia’s main general aviation airport, and is the busiest airfield and largest aviation training base in Australia. RAC Rescue 1, supported by the Royal Automotive Club, operates a Bell Helicopter 412EP. The service has been operating for 3.5 years and has flown more than 700 missions. CHC Helicopters (Australia) pilots fly the aircraft.
