Helicopters on Rise in Ireland

By James T. McKenna | June 6, 2007

The number of helicopter owners has soared in Ireland, according to the Royal Bank of Scotland. The bank has financed 38 aircraft in Ireland, the majority being helicopters purchased by property developers. Quick and efficient transportation is cited as a cause for the increase. Three helicopters, two AgustaWestland AW139s and a Sikorsky Aircraft S-76, are due to arrive in Ireland within the next 18 months. The Irish Aviation Authority had registered 140 helicopters at the end of last year. Of that number, 40 were new registrations. For related news
