Lockheed Martin Brings VH-71 SIL On Line

By Jim McKenna  | November 14, 2007

Lockheed Martin Systems Integration has brought the systems integration lab, or SIL, for the VH-71 U.S. presidential helicopter on line. The SIL is a key element of the contractor team's efforts to field the systems-laden variant of the AgustaWestland EH101. It is located at the Naval Air Systems Command's Presidential Helicopter Support Facility at NAS Patuxent River, Md. The EH101 Test Vehicle 2 (TV-2) is to arrive at Pax River this month to start comprehensive testing to validate the VH-71's complex systems. The SIL will work in conjunction with a larger facility at the Systems Integration headquarters in Owego, N.Y. For related news
