Hospital Launches Thailand’s First Helo EMS

By James T. McKenna | November 15, 2007

Bangkok Dusit Medical Services says it has launched Thailand’s first helicopter emergency medical services, according to The Bangkok Post. The company operates Thailand’s largest hospital chain and owns Bangkok Hospital, Bangkok Heart Hospital, Wattanosoth Hospital, and Bangkok International Hospital. Before establishing its own helicopter services, it had contracted Siam Land Flying and Bangkok Airways to transport patients. The new service is a joint venture operated by the hospital company and South East Asia, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bangkok Airways. It uses a Eurocopter EC145 to cover Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Burma.  For related news
