EADS Sees More EC145s From LUH Contract

By James T. McKenna | December 4, 2007

Eurocopter expects to net about 200 extra sales of EC145s worldwide as a result of its win in the U.S. Army's Light Utility Helicopter competition. Ralph Crosby told Reuters the company already has sold one LUH, based on the EC145, to Malta. Crosby is chief executive of EADS North America, which has the lead on the Army contract. "The Army is our staunchest supporter," he said, despite criticism by Army evaluators that the aircraft, dubbed the UH-145 Lakota, is not operationally suitable for medevac missions and that its cabin is prone to overheating.
