Avidyne Corp. has appointed David Copeland as vice president of sales and marketing. The Lincoln, Mass.-headquartered company said he brings a lifetime of aviation knowledge and extensive general aviation sales and marketing experience to Avidyne as it expands into a full-line avionics systems manufacturer.

Associated Aircraft Group has promoted three employees within its finance department and named a new director of finance. Frank Paulo was promoted to that post after serving as a financial analyst for the Danbury, Conn.-based charter, helicopter management and maintenance company, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sikorsky Aircraft. He is now charged with managing all aspects of the company’s financial functions. Carolee Rodriguez has been promoted to financial analyst, succeeding Paulo. She previously was a supervisor of accounting associates. Stephanie Miller has been promoted to accounting representative.

Sky Connect has named Rick Castorena Midwest regional sales manager. He brings 30 years of experience in aerospace and communications to the Takoma Park, Md.-based company, most recently having served as national sales manager for International Communications Group and DHP Aviation.


Helicopter Support, Inc.’s director of quality, Ed Smith, has been appointed as a designated airworthiness representative (DAR) for manufacturing. The appointment comes in addition to Smith being named a DAR for maintenance, making him the only dual DAR at the FAA’s Windsor Locks, Conn. Manufacturing Inspection District Office and Flight Standards District Office, which serves covering Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Smith began his career with Trumbull, Conn.-based HSI 14 years ago as quality supervisor.
