By James T. McKenna | January 8, 2008

Eurocopter has won a contract to provide 11 new helicopters to Spain's ministries of defense and the interior. The defense ministry is acquiring two, twin-engine AS532AL Cougars for the Army Airmobile Force and three for the Military Emergency Unit for emergency missions like firefighting and search and rescue. The interior ministry's Directorate General for Traffic is to receive four twin-engine, multi-mission AS355NPs and two twin, instrument-flight-capable EC135s. Eurocopter says the orders are worth 136 million euros ($200 million). For related news
