Eurocopter Logs Record Year, Sees Challenges

By James T. McKenna | January 22, 2008

Eurocopter in the coming year must find ways to cope with a long-term weak dollar, further optimize production to meet demand, and focus on deliveries and a smooth service introduction of the NH90, according to its chief executive. Lutz Bertling outlined those and other challenges at a Paris briefing for reporters at which he reported deliveries of 488 new military and civil helicopters and record revenue of 4 billion euros in 2007. Eurocopter took orders for 802 helicopters last year, he said, compared to 615 in 2006. Orders in 2007 were split 56-44 percent between military and civilian aircraft. For related news
