From the Factories: Bell Tailors P3 Program To Int’l Safety Goals

By R&W Staff | February 1, 2008

In response to the International Helicopter Safety Team’s initiative to reduce accidents by 80 percent by 2016, the Bell Helicopter Training Academy has refined its Professional Pilot Program, known as P3.

This program is designed for advanced pilots to directly target factors that contribute to accidents and incidents as reported by the industry.

The course modules are designed to target the specific training needs within each industry segment: law enforcement, emergency medical services, electronic newsgathering, charter, and utility.

The program is designed for four students per course. Through a combination of aircraft and simulation flight time, P3 offers intense classroom and flight training using specific accident scenarios to further enhance pilot skills.
