AirLife Denver is expanding its operations with the addition of a third helicopter to be stationed in northern Colorado.
The expansion is scheduled for this month and will provide air ambulance coverage to an area with an established requirement for emergency and critical-care transport.
AirLife is working with Air Methods and the Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District on the new service. The third aircraft will operate from Frederick-Firestone Fire Station No. 2.
That site southeast of Longmont compliments the existing helicopter bases in Lone Tree [at Sky Ride Medical Center] and Aurora [at The Medical Center of Aurora].
According to AirLife, Frederick-Firestone was chosen to augment existing ground and air medical resources in the area.
