Phoenix Heliparts has sold a majority interest to the helicopter parts provider Heli-Mart.
The acquisition significantly expands Heli-Mart’s capabilities, enabling the company to better serve MD Helicopters operators worldwide. Heli-Mart stocks a large inventory of OEM parts, and Phoenix Heliparts is an experienced MD Helicopters support provider.
Phoenix Heliparts also has relocated its business a half-mile north to Falcon Field in Mesa, Ariz. Operators can now land at the FAA repair station’s hangar. The company said customers will be provided with a single point of contact who will manage their project from start to finish. Phoenix Heliparts also completely restore and repair MD Helicopters.
Its facility is 14,000 sq ft and can service 10 helicopters at once. The company is negotiating to lease 5 acres on the north side of the airport and build a hangar there. That facility would be much larger. "We are planning on a 60,000 square foot hangar for maintenance on 25 helicopters, 20,000 square feet of helicopter storage/operation for 10 helicopters, 20,000 square feet for parts warehousing and 15,000 square feet for administrative offices," Langenhuizen said.
