South Korea, Eurocopter Kick Off Joint Marketing

By James T. McKenna | March 25, 2008

Korea Aerospace Industries and Eurocopter are launching joint efforts this week to market utility helicopters built in South Korea, according to The Korea Times. Quoting that nation’s Defense Acquisition Program Administration, the newspaper said the companies held a kick-off meeting at Eurocopter headquarters in Marignane, France. The 9-ton, 11-passenger Korea Utility Helicopter is to be built in part in South Korea starting in 2012. South Korea launched the program in 2005 to replace its fleets of Bell Helicopter UH-1Hs and MD Helicopters MD-500s. For related news
