MD Eyes Four Sites for New Home

By James T. McKenna | April 3, 2008

MD Helicopters has narrowed its options for a new home to four sites, none of which is its current airport in Mesa, Ariz., according published reports. The Arizona Republic quoted MD CEO Lynn Tilton as saying she’d extended her deadline for a decision from tomorrow to give the four more time to flesh out their offers. The four sites are said to be Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (13 mi south of its current Falcon Field site in Mesa); North Texas Regional Airport in Denison, Texas; Shreveport, La. Regional Airport, and Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City. Tilton and Mesa officials have been arguing over a rent increase at Falcon Field. Tilton has said she plans to buy a very light jet manufacturer this year and co-located with the re-located MD. Published reports say she also plans to move her Heritage Aviation completions shop from Grand Prairie, Texas to the new site. For related news
