Keeping Military Helicopter Crews in the Fold

In a related vein, Helicopter Assn International President Matthew Zuccaro wants to work with the Pentagon to keep military helicopter pilots and mechanics in rotary-wing operations. He and HAI staff members are reaching out to leaders of the military branches for approval to offer briefings to pilots and mechanics leaving the military on the job opportunities available to them in the commercial industry. With the high tempo of combat operations, U.S. crews are rapidly acquiring flight hours and breadth of maintenance experience that commercial operators, desperate for both flight and maintenance crews, would find highly valuable.
