Silver State Fleet “Boneyard”

By James T. McKenna | May 9, 2008

Silver State Helicopters’ fleet of more than 200 aircraft has been collected and assembled in Texas, where new owners are picking through the lot. Sky Helicopters in Garland, Texas was named the agent for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court trustee overseeing liquidation of the training company. Silver State shut its doors suddenly in early February. Buyers have been taking large numbers of aircraft, mostly Robinson Helicopter R22s and R44s, said Sky President Ken Pyatt, who added most are going to operations outside the United States. The bankruptcy trustee selected the Dallas area as an easy location for buyers inside and outside the United States to reach. For related news
