More Helicopter Parts Missing in the Mideast

By Staff Writer | June 19, 2008

A few weeks ago, Taliban fighters in the tribal areas of Pakistan seized parts of American Chinooks, Black Hawks and Cobras. The Taliban filmed all the stolen parts to show the film to perspective customers in Afghanistan. Yesterday, the American military said another four U.S. military helicopter engines, worth a combined $13.2 million, are missing in the Afghanistan-Pakistan region. The engines were shipped over land by a Pakistani trucking company from the main U.S. base at Bagram and were destined for Fort Bragg where the 82nd Airborne Division is based. The engines went missing en route. For related news
