Russian Air Force to Order Ka-52s

By Staff Writer | November 13, 2008

The Russian Air Force will order 12 Kamov Ka-52 Alligator scout-attack helicopters in 2009 after all mandatory testing has been completed. The Ka-52 is similar to the Ka-50 but has two side-by-side seats instead of the front-to-rear configuration. The Ka-52, also known as the Hokum-B in NATO parlance, is designated mainly for reconnaissance missions and will complement a prior order of 67 Mi-28N Night Hunter gunship helicopters. It will not replace them. For related news
