EADS Receives Order for More UH-72As

The U.S. Army has ordered 39 additional UH-72A Lakotas from aircraft builder, EADS North America. The contract, valued at $207.7 million, will increase the Army’s Lakota fleet to 123. The light, twin-engine utility helicopter, which has been in service with the National Guard since 2007, is based on the popular EC-145 from EADS’ subsidiary, Eurocopter. Deliveries of the aircraft are expected to occur through 2010. For related news
