The UK’s Ministry of Defence (MOD) has awarded Rolls-Royce a £258 million ($382 million) contract to provide support to the country’s Sea King helicopter fleet. According to Rolls-Royce, the 10-year, full availability-based agreement is the first of its type for helicopter engines between it and the MOD. It covers all 96 engines used to power the twin-engine, boat-hulled helicopter made for the Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy by Westland under license from Sikorsky. For related news
