U.S.-Franco-German Helo Project Under Consideration

Reuters is reporting that the U.S. may join France and Germany in a project to build a new heavy-lift transport helicopter for military applications. The move comes in response to the growing economic crisis that has affected defense budgets around the world. The European Union and NATO believe that if countries band together to develop high-tech military hardware, wasteful duplications of effort can be avoided and defense spending can become more efficient.
