By Staff Writer | April 6, 2009

The U.S. Navy’s last two operational H-1 Huey helicopters flew their final flights on April 3, 2009 as they headed into retirement. The Vietnam-era aircraft were stationed at Naval Air Station Fallon in Nevada, 60 miles east of Reno. They were used for a variety of missions throughout their lives, including search and rescue. One of the helicopters will be put on display at NAS Fallon and the other will be sent to Florida as a “training tool,” according to the Navy. For additional information
