Last Straw for Marine One

Defense Secretary Robert Gates recommended that the Marine One program be canceled for the time being and a stop work order was issued. There appears to be three real options: One, work with the five aircraft that are nearing completion and cancel the program. Two, a complete restructuring of the VH-71 program and a possible reduction in the number of aircraft built. Third, upgrade the VH-3D platform. In the meantime, President Obama will continue to fly the current version of the Marine One. For Related News
