Guardsmen Help Flood-Ravaged Area

By Staff Writer | April 16, 2009

UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters assigned to the North Dakota National Guard are on the scene of the flood-torn areas surrounding Valley City in the southeast corner of the state. Their mission is to transport clutches of huge, one-ton sand bags to fellow guardsmen on the ground who are working feverishly to sure up the levee system there. Guard helicopters are also transporting badly needed supplies and personnel to other areas of the state that were devastated by floods caused by record rainfall over past few days.
