Victor E. Boccelli, a helicopter designer, has died. He designed helicopters for the Piasecki company and Boeing Vertol Division.

Atlanta-based Precision Aviation Group announced that aerospace industry veteran Phillip Fienen has joined PAG as the company’s new regional sales manager. Fienen is a retired U.S. Marine Sikorsky CH-53 Sea Stallion crew chief.

The National Business Aviation Association applauded the Senate approval of J. Randolph "Randy" Babbitt as the next administrator for the Federal Aviation Administration.


Richard John Adams has died. Adams was an active member of the Helicopter Association International and the American Helicopter Society. He was 66 years old.

James Chadwick, owner of Chadwick-Helmuth Company and pioneer of a portable helicopter rotor track and balance system, died at his home in Bradbury, Calif. Chadwick founded the company more than 50 years ago with Jim Helmuth.

EADS North America has tapped Larry Roberts to direct business development initiatives for federal law enforcement aircraft. Roberts will lead initiatives to support the FBI, DEA, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and a variety of other U.S. federal law enforcement agencies.

The Billy Deacon SAR Memorial Trophy is awarded to winch operators from the Coastguard, Royal Air Force and Royal Navy for meritorious service during SAR helicopter operations from U.K. SAR bases. The 2009 award has been made to winchman Phil Warrington.

Kaman Corp. announced that George E. Minnich, 59, has been appointed to the board of directors. The appointment of Minnich, effective immediately, increases the Kaman board to 10 members.
