Thales’ helmet-mounted sight display, TopOwl, has completed a series of tests to demonstrate its abilities as advanced mission and piloting equipment in attack and combat transport roles. Most of the test flights took place in the U.S., Canada and Australia, including with Lockheed Martin Black Hawks and Hueys; U.S. Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory (AARL) Hueys, and National Research Council (NRC) of Canada and Defense Science & Technology Organization (DSTO) helicopters in Australia. Flight trials for the night vision system on the Apache are ongoing at the U.S. Army Aviation Adapted Technology Directorate (AATD).
