By Staff Writer | April 26, 2010

AgustaWestland has handed over two AW139s to the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba). The unit accepted the helicopters in late March at the manufacturer’s plant in Vergiate, Italy, where they remain for pilot training with a scheduled transfer to Malaysia in late April. Bomba will employ the AW139s in firefighting, search and rescue, land reconnaissance and other support missions. Conversion training for crew and maintenance personnel is included in the agreement.
