The Products division of Air Methods Corp. has handed over a Bell 429 with an EMS cabin to Des Moines, Iowa-based Mercy One. It is the first Bell 429 to enter service with an air medical interior, and Mercy One is the launch customer for the type. The Products division took the Bell 429 from the green stage through completion of the cockpit and interior, which is set up for single, dual or specialty transport missions through clamshell doors in the back. Other features include NVG capability, H-TAWS, GPS navigation and satellite weather and tracking. Air Methods also designs EMS interiors for the Bell 407 and Eurocopter EC145, EC135, EC130 and AS350.
