Hudson Midair Docket Goes Public

By Staff Writer | June 1, 2010

As part of its continuing investigation of the Aug. 8, 2009 midair collision of a Eurocopter AS350BA and a Piper PA-32 aircraft over the Hudson River, the National Transportation Safety Board has opened the public docket. It includes factual reports, interview summaries, crew and controller statements, transcripts from air traffic control, meteorological summary and other various details from the investigation. The docket does not include analysis or a probable cause, which will come at a later date with the final NTSB report. Six people aboard the helicopter and three on the small aircraft died in the crash, which sparked FAA to revise the airspace rules in the corridor.
