By Staff Writer | July 21, 2010

Sikorsky Innovations introduced its X2 Technology light tactical helicopter (LTH) simulator at the Farnborough Airshow this morning. The simulator will showcase the military version of the X2, which is designed to cruise at 250 knots using counter-rotating coaxial rotor blades. Teresa Carleton, vice president of mission systems integration, said the simulator can be used for “various mission scenarios, and [to] demonstrate the advantages of speed, high agility, low acoustic signature, and low vibrations.” Sikorsky anticipates achieving the 250-knot mark in flight tests by the end of this year.
