By Staff Writer | August 1, 2010

Shin-Nihon Helicopter Corp. is the recipient of the 1,000th Bell 407, s/n 54000. The Textron subsidiary delivered the helicopter during a June ceremony at its manufacturing plant in Mirabel, Quebec. Shin-Nihon will employ the helicopter in power-line patrol and materials transport missions, as well as aerial surveys and photography/videography. The handover coincides with Shin-Nihon’s 50th anniversary in business. The company operates a fleet including seven Bell 206L-3s, three 427s, two 407s and one Fuji-Bell 204B-2. Shin-Nihon also has another Bell 407 on order under a deal arranged through Mitsui Bussan Aerospace, a Bell representative in Japan. (From August 2010 Rotorcraft Report)
