Czech EC135 Fleet Hits 10,000 Hours

By Staff Writer | August 1, 2010

Eurocopter is reporting that the Czech Police Aviation Department (CPAD) has amassed a total of more than 10,000 flight hours of operations. The fleet consists of eight EC135s. CPAD also flies two BO-105s. The flight-hour milestone comes at a time when the police unit is marking its 75th year of existence. The aviation unit provides a number of support roles, including police/parapublic, search and rescue, aerial surveillance, EMS and firefighting. CPAD—which began operating EC135s in 2004—was the first law enforcement group in Eastern Europe to employ the helicopter type. (From August 2010 Rotorcraft Report)
