By Staff Writer | November 17, 2010

In response to a recent fatal accident investigation that revealed a crack in the main rotor hub fitting of the Bell 212, FAA has published emergency airworthiness directive (AD) No. 2010-24-51. The agency is requiring removal of fittings with serial numbers A-9956 through A-10005, which are identified in Bell alert service bulletin (ASB) No. 212-10-141. According to Bell, the fittings “may not have been manufactured in accordance with the engineering requirements and may fracture.”
