NTSB Hosts Hearing on Carson Crash

The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board is planning to hold a public meeting on Tuesday regarding the Aug. 5, 2008 crash of a Sikorsky S-61N in the mountains near Weaverville, Calif. The Carson Helicopters-operated S-61N was transporting firefighters for the U.S. Forest Service when it went down. Nine people died in the accident and four received serious injuries. NTSB expects to issue a final report, including a probable cause, following the Dec. 7 meeting.
