Eurocopter X3 Breaches 180-Knot Mark

During flight tests in late November, Eurocopter’s X3 (x-cube) hybrid helicopter prototype flew at speeds of 180 knots KTAS (207 mph)—the first step objective toward the program’s target of 220 knots (253 mph). Eurocopter test pilot Hervé Jammayrac and flight test engineer Daniel Semioli conducted the airborne trials at the DGA Flight Test facility in Istres, France.
