Air Methods enforced a 12-hour fleet grounding after a University of Missouri Staff For Life Eurocopter AS350B2 was forced to make an emergency landing Sunday in La Monte. Three crewmembers on board survived the crash with non-life-threatening injuries. Craig Yale, corporate vice president of Air Methods, which operates the Staff For Life fleet, told the Columbia Daily Tribune that the helicopter “had a problem—we suspect a mechanical problem—after taking off,” adding that it “came down hard” upon returning to the helipad.
