Fifth Oldest UH-60 is Reborn

By Staff Writer | February 10, 2011

As part of the government’s “recapitalization” efforts, Sikorsky Aerospace Services (SAS) has upgraded the fifth oldest UH-60 Blackhawk from an “A” to an “L” model. SAS returned the 32-year old helicopter, which has been in service with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency, earlier this month after major structural, engine, component and technology upgrades. The eight-year old program is designed to give crews the latest aircraft advancements at a more economical cost.
