Honeywell Projects 5% Uptick in Turbine Sales

According to Honeywell’s 13th Turbine-Powered Civilian Helicopter Purchase Outlook, worldwide deliveries of new civil helicopters will grow five percent from 2011-2015, when compared to the previous five years. The engine maker surveyed upwards of 1,000 chief pilots and flight department managers who operate more than 2,150 helicopters around the globe. By region, Honeywell is projecting a 23 percent increase in rotorcraft utilization from Africa and the Middle East, 18 percent from the U.S., 10 percent from Latin America and 7 percent from Europe. Asia is expected to see a six percent reduction in utilization.
