Curtiss-Wright Wins CH-53K Contract

Charlotte, N.C.-based Curtiss-Wright Controls has agreed to provide the blade fold distributor units and digital air data computers for the Sikorsky CH-53K. Valued at up to $16 million, the contract involves Curtiss-Wright’s Motion Control division supplying the blade fold units from its facility in City of Industry, Calif. The company will make the air data computers at its Penny & Giles facility in Christchurch, UK. The initial agreement runs through 2011, with production projected to start in 2013.
