Helicopter Association International’s board of directors has named Sergei Sikorsky an honorary lifetime member. The association recognized the son of company founder Igor Sikorsky during its Salute to Excellence ceremony on March 7 during Heli-Expo.

Richard Gross is the new assistant director of operations for Metro Aviation in Shreveport, La. He was previously senior director of sales for American Eurocopter. An ATP-rated helicopter pilot and CFI/instrument instructor for rotorcraft, Gross is also the former director of operations for STAT MedEvac. While with the EMS provider, he helped initiate the Part 135 air carrier certificate for STAT MedEvac’s Center for Emergency Medicine in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Euless, Texas-based Aero Dynamix has appointed Tonka Hufford as operations manager/project development. He was formerly president of RSG Aviation. Hufford’s background includes serving as vice president of operations for MD Helicopters. His previous experience includes aircraft completions, manufacturing, operations and marketing.


Blackcomb Aviation has appointed Steve Wright vice president. A pilot and former owner of a Vancouver-based helicopter support company, Wright will focus on international business development, film coordination and VIP travel services for the Canadian charter and aircraft management provider.

Sikorsky Aircraft has named Anthony Moreland as vice president-Americas and Christophe Nurit as vice president-Asia. Both will focus on commercial and foreign military sales in their respective regions, reporting to Carey Bond, president of Sikorsky Global Helicopters and chief marketing officer for Sikorsky Aircraft.
