X2 Prototype Takes Final Flight

Following a total of 23 flights, Sikorsky has wrapped up the X2 Technology demonstrator program. The manufacturer flew the X2 prototype for the final time last week as part of a demonstration flight at its Development Flight Center in West Palm Beach, Fla. The X2 demonstrator totaled 22 hours, reaching a maximum cruise speed of 253 knots. Sikorsky is transitioning the technology from the program to the S-97 Raider, a military variant.
