United Rotorcraft, an Air Methods division, has been completed a non-exclusive agreement with AgustaWestland to design an interior air ambulance concept for AW169s. AgustaWestland will provide United Rotorcraft with a full-scale AW169 mockup for design and integration. The final design will be one of several potential EMS interiors available for the AW169. This agreement follows the Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust of New Zealand placing an order for two AW169, signaling the entrance of the AW variant to the Australasian region. Upon delivery in 2015, the helicopters will be used for EMS and search and rescue missions (SAR).
