Mesa, Ariz.-based MD Helicopters (Booth 7425) has granted scholarships to two Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Booth 1417) students who are graduating in May 2012 with a degree from the Aeronautical Science Rotary-Wing program. The students—Cody Hart and Elizabeth Raetz—will each receive MD-500 Transitional Scholarships, including $10,000 toward a five-day transitional course.
Hart, a full-time student, adjunct faculty and flight instructor, completed his helicopter CFII rating and is president of the Student Helicopter Club. Raetz is former volunteer firefighter and EMT, who transferred to Embry-Riddle. She is taking her helicopter CFII this spring and completed an internship with Papillon Helicopters. MD also gave fellow student Ben Lewis the opportunity to co-pilot and fly a new MD902 to Dallas for Heli-Expo.
