The U.S. Patent Office has issued a primary utility patent to Fort Worth, Texas-based AVX Aircraft covering technical functions of the company’s designs, including coaxial rotors, dual ducted fans and various internal components and controls. AVX is in month seven of a $4-million, 18-month U.S. Army Aviation Applied Technology Directorate contract to study a technically feasible design for the Joint Multi-Role (now Future Vertical Lift) program.
